Bera Mawr, Carneddau Mountains, North Wales.

A while ago I attempted this walk but was thwarted by the really wet weather, but was compensated by the Afon Goch waterfalls in full spate, this time the weather was more favourable.

Part 1 . . . The Walk in and the Waterfalls.

The Afon Rhaeadr Fawr at Bont Newydd

Llwytmor on the left and Bera Mawr centre seen from the path to Aber Falls

Aber Falls seen from the Forest Trail

The Forest Trail makes a pleasant diversion from the main path to Aber Falls

The scree path to gain the heights above the Waterfalls, care needed here!

Just beyond the screes is this lovely view back towards Aber, with Anglesey and Puffin Island beyond.

A gentle Afon Goch above the big falls

Afon Goch

Afon Goch, note the faint path above, that's as good as the path gets!

A lovely spot to stop for a coffee!

Last time I was here this was a raging torrent as the picture below shows

Image take 8 months earlier . . . . larger image here

More waterfalls on the Afon Goch

Its wet feet time to get this one!
