  About Myself ...

I have always had a liking for all things outdoors, which started when I was very young when my parents holidayed in Scotland, Wales & Cornwall. The mountains always fascinated & inspired me by their beauty & size. School days brought adventure weekends away at Plas Newydd on Anglesey, where my love of the Welsh Mountains was born.

Ever since I first picked up a strange shinny pebble on some obscure beach I have had a very keen interest in Minerals, Geology and Mining History, and have spent the last 30 years or so pursuing this interest. I have visited and explored many of the mining centres of Britain both above and below ground, which shows in many of the galleries on cheshirecam.

Photography has always been an interest for me as I have always took snaps of the locations I visit. It was not until I bought myself a quality 35mm SLR camera that I realised this was the hobby for me, where I can combine my outdoor passion with  photography.  Finding Derbyshirecam and Cornwallcam on the Internet was the inspiration for me setting up Cheshirecam. I purchased my first Digital Camera, the Nikon Coolpix 950, and I was away, and have never looked back.

Why Cheshirecam? well I live here don't I,  and its a wonderful county packed with a variety of features made for walking and photographing. Although the website is titled Cheshirecam it provides a platform* for areas that are also close to Cheshire. Its  central location makes access to Wales, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and many other places so easy to visit. Indeed my Welsh images are always very popular with visitors to the website.

Its a joy to share my visits and wanderings with the many visitors to my website, and I hope it inspires you to get out their and see these places for yourself, as the camera does not always do a location justice.
